Update 07/06/19: Our latest research reveals that the Myanmar military continues to indiscriminately attack civilians in 2019. The Myanmar military clearly has no interest in reform, but the Australian government continues to provide them with a program of support, including training. The Australian government must stop supporting them immediately -  please take action now.

The Myanmar military’s killing of thousands of Rohingya people has made world headlines.

But many don’t know that the Australian Government is complicit in this violence – quietly funding the Myanmar military while forces continue to commit crimes against humanity.

Myanmar’s ethnic cleansing campaign has been relentless and systematic. Since August 2017, security forces have driven more than 700,000 Rohingya women, men and children into neighbouring Bangladesh.

Senowara fled for her life and now lives in a camp along the Bangladeshi border with her young son. Despite ongoing adversity, she shows incredible strength. “My husband was killed, my cousin’s brothers were killed. Even though I was scared, I was strong. My soul was strong.”

It’s time for Australia to stand alongside Senowara and thousands of Rohingya people in calling for those responsible for the violence and killings to be held to account.

Add your name call on the government to end all Australian support to the Myanmar military now.
