Jimmy Sham Tsz-kit stands up for LGBTQIA+ rights, but because of Hong Kong’s National Security Law, he has been in prison for over four months.
118 people have now been arrested in relation to the National Security Law.
People have been arrested for their tweets, or the slogans on their T-shirts and mobile phone stickers.
Some of these people face life in prison if found guilty.
These ongoing arrests and prosecutions have curtailed the freedoms of peaceful assembly, expression and association in Hong Kong, in an unprecedented speed and scale.
In the 12 months since it was imposed by the Chinese government, the National Security Law has been used to stifle voices critical of the Hong Kong or Beijing authorities.
But when hundreds of thousands of people like you around the world take action, you put enormous pressure on the authorities in Hong Kong to release Jimmy, and all those imprisoned under the National Security Law.
Right now, he’s being held in pre-trial detention – we need to act before he goes to trial, and could be sentenced to years in prison.
Take action and tell the authorities to release Jimmy – and everyone detained under the National Security Law.
