HELP PROTECT CIVILIANS
Civilians across the Middle East are facing growing danger as conflict escalates following attacks on Iran and retaliatory strikes across the region.
Military strikes have already resulted in hundreds of civilian deaths and the destruction of homes, schools and critical infrastructure.
In Iran, people have already endured one of the deadliest crackdowns in decades for demanding their fundamental rights. Thousands of protesters have been killed, tens of thousands arbitrarily detained and authorities have repeatedly imposed near-total internet shutdowns designed to hide the truth.
Now, as hostilities intensify across the region, civilians in Iran and beyond face even greater risk.
In southern Iran, a strike on a school in the city of Minab reportedly killed around 165 people, including about 150 children. Amnesty International researchers analysed footage from the aftermath showing a partially collapsed building and rescuers searching through rubble for survivors. The United Nations has described the attack as a grave violation of international humanitarian law.
Despite internet shutdowns and the risks faced by those sharing information, our researchers are working every day to document violations, verify footage, preserve evidence and stay in contact with trusted sources inside Iran and across the region.
This work is critical. It ensures the world cannot look away and that those responsible for violations can one day be held to account.
Your support helps Amnesty International expose the truth, push governments to act, and pursue international pathways to accountability, including investigations under universal jurisdiction and advocacy at the United Nations and International Criminal Court.
Impunity fuels further bloodshed. With solidarity and global pressure, justice can be pursued. Please donate today to help protect civilians and ensure the truth is not buried.
