In 1948, the United Nations agreed to adopt the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which affirms that all humans have fundamental rights, whatever their beliefs, social origins, sex or other status.

Unfortunately, our elected leaders continue to turn their backs on our shared values of equality and justice. We still see families denied the right to seek asylum from war-torn countries, we still see a disproportionate number of Indigenous children in prison, and we still see our leaders fueling wars and unrest in countries where they are selling arms.
