Everyone is equal under the law. Everyone should enjoy the same rights and freedoms. Everyone can stand up against injustice when rights are abused or denied.

Join the fight for rights by becoming a human rights defender today. You will receive a free face mask when you sign up - it's our way of saying thanks!

The Amnesty face mask will provide you and others with a physical barrier to coronavirus (COVID-19). You should still keep a 1.5m distance from others and wash your hands often. See our notice at the bottom of this page for more information.

Millions of ordinary people have been putting pressure on governments and corporate powers, achieving amazing things:

  • Thousands of lives saved and changed all across the globe,
  • The abolition of the death penalty in more than 140 countries,
  • The establishment of an International Criminal Court,
  • An increased public awareness of human rights over the last 60 years.

The most powerful way for you to take part in this movement for change is by making a regular donation. You'll join a powerful community of like-minded supporters who want to create long-term change. You'll help us plan ahead and react quickly when a crisis arises. You'll help us win more battles.

Amnesty is 100% independent. We will never accept funding from governments or political organisations. This means we’re free to campaign with objectivity and impartiality.

This comes with huge risks: our offices have been closed, raided or spied on in several countries in the last years. Some of our staff have been jailed for doing their work.

But we keep fighting. We keep challenging the systems that enable injustice and abuses. And we'll never stop.

Be the change. Our better future begins today.

All donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible in Australia.

*Important notice

It is not Amnesty International’s role to give health advice, or to advise supporters and the public to wear masks or not from a health perspective. As a human rights organization, we don’t have the information or expertise to assess how countries and states should specifically respond to epidemics, and if, when or how certain measures should be put in place.

These face masks are NOT medical grade and are NOT to be worn as protection around known COVID-19 patients. Please follow all government instructions regarding social distancing practices (and other guidelines as they arise) during this time.

Even if you are wearing a mask, you are still at risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19 and best practice is to stay at home wherever possible.

Please machine wash your mask once you have received it and after every use to reduce the risk of contamination. The masks are 3-ply woven polyester fabric that will soften after washing.

Persons with breathing difficulty or other respiratory conditions are advised to seek professional medical advice regarding the suitability of these masks. If you experience breathing difficulties while wearing a mask, we suggest removing the mask if you feel it is safer to do so and seek medical advice if deemed necessary.

Face masks should not be shared.

Depending on where you live, it may take up to two weeks to receive your mask.

The mask you receive may vary slightly from what is pictured on this page.
