UYGHUR PEOPLE IN CHINA ARE BEING FORCED TO WORK IN FACTORIES FOR THE WORLD'S BIGGEST BRANDS.
Amnesty has viewed evidence that suggests over 80,000 Uyghur people are being 'released' from political 're-education camps' in Xinjiang and forced into involuntary labour in factories across China.
These factories are reported to be part of the manufacturing processes of major global brands in technology, clothing, and automotive sectors.
IF MURKY INTERNATIONAL SUPPLY CHAINS NOW INCLUDE FORCED LABOUR FROM XINJIANG, THEN WE ARE WITNESSING A NEW, FAR-REACHING LEVEL OF ABUSE.
Many of the goods you purchase, the products you use each day, are likely being made by forced labourers who are subjected to excessive hours, constant surveillance and political indoctrination classes. This is simply not acceptable.
Your support will be used by our expert researchers to find new layers of evidence of human rights abuses including forced labour and urge multinational companies to publicly report their supply chain due diligence and address improper labour practices.
TOGETHER WE CAN FIND THE TRUTH BEHIND THE REPORTS OF FORCED LABOUR AND USE THAT KNOWLEDGE TO FREE UYGHUR PEOPLE FROM THESE HORRIFYING CONDITIONS.
