WITHOUT THE RIGHT TO RAISE OUR VOICES IN PROTEST, OUR WORLD WOULD BE A VERY DIFFERENT PLACE.

Women’s right to vote. The end of apartheid. Marriage equality. These were vital, fundamental changes that brought freedom and equality to marginalised people in many parts of the world.

Changes that only happened because passionate, courageous people like you stood up and raised their voices.

RIGHT NOW, OUR RIGHT TO JOIN OUR VOICES AND CHALLENGE INJUSTICE IS UNDER THREAT.

In many countries, people risk arrest, violence, or even death, just for speaking out against injustice.

Evidence collected by Amnesty International has exposed the institutional racism and discrimination that has characterised police responses during the pandemic. This injustice cannot go unchallenged.

Even here in Australia Amnesty Human Rights Observers witnessed police attacking peaceful protesters with pepper spray at the June Black Lives Matter rally in Sydney.

We must not lose our right to stand up and speak out. It’s the most powerful and effective tool we have to protect our rights and our future.

WE NEED OUR RIGHT TO PROTEST NOW, AS MUCH AS WE EVER HAVE.

Donate now and you can help make sure injustice will never go unchallenged.

You have the power to protect not just your right to protest against injustice – but the brave human rights defenders on the front line, who are using that right to protect our planet and the future of us all.

Courageous, determined people like Jani Silva, a Columbian environmental defender who fights tirelessly for the conservation of the Amazon ecosystem.

“We can't let fear win. We can't run. We have to defend our lives and our rights. We have to raise our voice.” says Jani

Time after time, Jani and her family have been threatened, followed, intimidated, and harassed because of her refusal to be silenced. But she remains undaunted thanks to the support of people like you, who defend those on the front line safeguarding our planet and our future.

Donate today and protect your right to stand up for what you believe in.
