YOU CAN HELP PROTECT THE COURAGEOUS INDIVIDUALS FACING DANGER AND PERSECUTION.

Your words are powerful. For 22 years, Amnesty International’s annual Write for Rights campaign has been transforming the lives of people whose rights are being violated. In that time, millions of Write for Rights supporters have come together, using the power of their words to challenge injustice and demand change.

This year, we’re taking action for individuals and communities from 10 different countries who are courageously speaking truth to power.

ANA MARIA SANTOS CRUZ

Ana Maria has been demanding truth, justice, and reparations for the brutal murder of her son, human rights defender, Pedro Henrique, at the hands of Brazilian police. This has made her the target of ongoing harassment and intimidation by the authorities.

Together, we can demand that the investigation into Pedro Henrique’s murder be promptly concluded in an independent and impartial manner so that all those responsible for the crime are brought to justice in fair trials.

CHAIMA ISSA

Chaima is a Tunisian activist who was arbitrarily detained for four months for publicly opposing Tunisian president, Kais Saied, after
his takeover of the country in July 2021. Though she has since been released, the legal case is ongoing and she has been banned from travelling abroad and ‘appearing in public spaces’.

Raise your voice to demand that this baseless investigation and other restrictions against Chaima be dropped.

Every moment counts. By challenging the injustices they face, we will
transform not just their lives, but the lives of all those who are being oppressed, silenced and abused. With your help, we will drive systemic change that protects the rights of all people. And we will demand freedom, equality, and justice for all.

100% FUNDED BY YOU

We have the power to make governments change because we are 100% independent.

Amnesty doesn’t accept funding from governments or political organisations so they have zero leverage on what we do.

This financial independence means we are free to campaign with objectivity and impartiality and to defend human rights worldwide.

All donations of $2 and over are tax deductible in Australia. Please donate now and help human rights defenders around the world.
